Originally created as a portiere (a decorative curtain for doorways), this intricate design captures the essence of William Morris' beloved floral and animal motifs. Inspired by his garden and deep connection to nature, Morris created stylized, flowing patterns to bring the natural world into the home.

After Morris’ passing, his apprentice John Henry Dearle continued the legacy through Morris & Co., adding his own touch of artistry.
